I would first like to thank the many of you who have contributed to the annual fund over the summer and into the fall. Your generous donations are deeply appreciated by the active brotherhood. It has been humbling to see the number of donations that have come in since the campaign was launched at the beginning of the summer. It is a testament to the deep brotherhood and care for Sigma Pi we all hold. Thank you again!

The active brothers have enjoyed the start of the 2016 academic year with several updates to the house. I without a doubt believe we have one of, if not the nicest houses at Penn State. The house is filled this year with 42 guys living in house and it appears like the house should be full into the future. We are off to a great start for the IM House Cup with 4-1 records in both softball and bocce. Fall rush was a success proving the chapter’s strength in securing 30 potential new members of the 32 bids extended. Philanthropically speaking, we have our second annual haunted house benefiting the Amazing Day Foundation for Suicide Prevention at the end of October. We have also planned to sponsor a blood drive through the American Red Cross on November 1. This past weekend we had our first THON canning weekend, which raised $19,488. This was an increase of over $2,000 from last year’s first trip.

Lastly, homecoming is this weekend and the WWII flagpole dedication/virtual homecoming will be November 12. I hope to see many of the alumni at the house for both events. Come by and meet the active brothers, take part in what should be a special ceremony in November, and check out the updates and restorations to the house. It would be a pleasure to meet many alumni brothers, and we believe that you will enjoy your time back at the house for these upcoming events.
